LAUSD Superintendent Deasy Out 17 MIN, 59 SEC

LAUSD superintendent John Deasy resigned this morning. Former superintendent Ray Cortines is stepping in until the school board finds a permanent replacement. For the past three-and-a-half years, Deasy’s been a divisive leader. He oversaw significant improvements in student test scores. But he also alienated teachers and botched two big technology projects.

Florida Gubernatorial Candidates Debate Fans 10 MIN, 40 SEC

In a bizarre standoff that lasted nearly seven minutes, the Republican governor of Florida, Rick Scott, refused to take the stage for a planned debate with his opponent, Democratic candidate Charlie Crist. At issue...a fan Crist had nestled under his podium.
