The European Union’s crowning achievement is abolishing internal border controls. But four former members of the old Soviet Block are working on barbed-wire fences. Leaders who’ve been whipping up right-wing Xenophobia aren’t going along with yesterday’s established quota for every member nation.  Meantime, the UN says the total agreed to is only a tiny fraction of the flow from Syria, Iraq and Eritrea alone.

Also, 'it ain’t over ‘til it’s over.' Yogi Berra has died.
