Politics in the United Kingdom is moving with lightning speed. Just last month, there was Brexit — the vote to leave the European Union. Today, a new leader took her first "Prime Minister's Questions" from Parliament. Theresa May is the fellow Conservative who replaced David Cameron. She had harsh words for the opposition, Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn. Michael Goldfarb is former London Bureau Chief for NPR, now a freelancer based in the United Kingdom.

Day Two of the GOP convention was more about demonizing Hillary Clinton than extolling Donald Trump -- nominated by delegates who were still divided. Tonight, the major speaker is Vice Presidential choice Mike Pence, the born-again Indiana Governor accused of using religious freedom to foster discrimination. There's a rift between the traditional values of white Christian Protestants and the need to broaden the party's appeal to a changing America. Is the Era of White Christian America ending? We hear about the reaction of Black Republicans to speeches about racial violence and relations with the police.
