FROM THIS EPISODE

Davis at the Office 8 MIN, 13 SEC

First, we go to work. That's where Davis had his breakdown. Davis isn't his real name – you'll understand why when you listen to the story. It's the story of how Davis, the swanky accountant, ended up drunk and alone at the office one night, standing in the middle of a pile of office supplies he had smashed to the ground.

Produced by Lila Cherneff, with editing by Nick White.

Castaway 11 MIN, 8 SEC

Next, when Brian Finkelstein first watched Castaway, he was drawn to the emotional seclusion of living on a desert island. The heartbreak only comes when Tom Hanks comes back to society, he thought. And that's how he lived for most of his life – in a state of self-imposed emotional isolation. Then, he met someone, and slowly realized he wanted – needed – emotional intimacy. But, as he finds out, desert islands are hard to escape.

Brian Finkelstein is a writer and a comedian living in Los Angeles.

Deafening Silence 9 MIN, 9 SEC

Finally, Shaz Bennett doesn't like silence – when it's forced upon her, she has to find a way to fill it. Sometimes, she fills it with the noise and chaos of conservative talk radio. And one time, she decided to dive head first into the noise, call into the show, and become a part of the chaos.

Shaz Bennett is a writer, director, storyteller and rabble-rouser. She is finishing up her first feature film, Alaska Is a Drag.
