Jobs, Taxes and Debatable Behavior

An uplifting jobs report, and a big win for Mitt Romney at the first presidential debate make for an exciting week in American politics.

The presidential campaign ratcheted up this week with an uplifting jobs report and a big debate win for Mitt Romney. The falling unemployment numbers released on Friday has skeptics aflutter on Twitter. Could unemployment really have dropped to 7.8 percent from 8.1 percent last month, just in time for President Obama's campaign to tout it? And did a spirited performance by Mitt Romney at thefirst presidential debate revitalize his poll numbers? He came out as a Rockefeller Republican who knew his numbers. Regardless, Robert Scheer says if you want a compelling reason to loathe the two-party choice, check out the new book, Bull by the Horns, by former FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair. (Joining us this week with the conservative view is Matthew Continetti of the Washington Free Beacon.)
