Will California be the poster child for the President's health insurance reform?  Not if Orange County supervisors have anything to say about it.  Chairman John Moorlach says he'll vote "no" on anything to do with what he calls "ObamaCare," and this week a majority of the board joined him to block a request for available federal money. We ask State Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones about the consequences. Also, when California law protects mountain lions, should the head of the Fish and Game Commission boast about killing a cougar in Idaho? Orange County Blocks Federal Healthcare Funds ()

When President Obama's Affordable Health Care Act was passed two years ago, the state legislature passed laws to make California the poster child for successful implementation. Included in a vote they took last week, three out of five Republican Supervisors in Orange County have now blocked their healthcare agency from seeking $10 million in federal grants they called "tainted" by "Obamacare."  Dave Jones is California's Insurance Commissioner and a former Democratic Assemblyman.

Fish and Game Commissioner Criticized for Killing Mountain Lion ()

Forty Democrats in the state Assembly have called for the President of California's Fish and Game Commission to resign. Daniel Richards has circulated pictures of himself with a dead mountain lion he killed on a hunting trip in Idaho. But in 1990, California voters made that illegal in California. Pictures of Richards and the dead cougar have gone viral and, in response to the calls for him to resign, the National Rifle Association put out a nationwide alert. Dozens of hunters and gun-rights advocates showed up yesterday at a Fish and Game Commission meeting in Riverside.

Rush Limbaugh and the GOP ()

Rush Limbaugh insists that reports of advertiser defections have been exaggerated, but liberal groups say he's taking a lot of hits. It's all about Limbaugh's attack on Sandra Fluke, who testified on Capitol Hill about the need for health insurers to provide birth control to liberate women for the work force and protect against disease. Since Limbaugh attacked the Georgetown law student as a "slut" and a "prostitute," Democrats have accused Republicans of being insensitive to women's rights and issues. How much clout does Limbaugh have with the GOP?  Do candidates fear him?
