Hi there,

KCRW reporter Anna Scott here with a heartfelt thank you.

Last month, KCRW debuted a podcast, hosted by me, that's been two years in the making. Over eight episodes, City of Tents: Veterans Row tells the story of an unusual encampment full of unhoused military veterans that sprang up outside the sprawling Veterans Affairs campus in West LA in early 2020. It was one tent city in, well, a city of tents (hence the title), but full of unique, surprising, and valuable lessons about how we got into this mess and how we could get out of it.

There aren't many media outlets in Los Angeles, or anywhere, investing in this kind of deep local reporting and storytelling — work with the potential to contribute to real, concrete change in the county we live in. I'm so grateful to work for one of the few places that invests in reporting like this, and most of all grateful to you who make it possible. Please support KCRW as we continue our work diving into the most urgent issues.

The first 140 people who donate today will each unlock an additional $100 for KCRW, so renew before midnight for an added bonus. That means if you give $60, it becomes $160 for KCRW, thanks to KCRW Board Member Silas Myers. Don’t miss out on this chance to make an even bigger impact for the station you rely on.

Thank you,

Anna Scott

P.S. There’s a little something extra in it for you! You’ll receive a free limited-edition motel keychain and a year of member perks with your donation.
