Cinefamily’s Fantastic Elastic 2012 Telethon marquee

Cinefamily is the best programmed place for movies anywhere. Go there any evening of the week and you’ll see something awesome with a bunch of awesome people. And their annual telethon is the most fun film-centric event of all time. It’s a 24-hour party featuring great conversations, great talent, great movies and just all around wackiness.

Cinefamily’s Fantastic Elastic 2013 Telethon starts this Saturday, December 14th this year and ends Sunday at the same time, because, you know, it’s a 24-hour telethon. If you want to get a taste of what you’re in for, check out my blog past from last year HERE.

If for some insane reason you can’t go, you can watch the live stream and give HERE.

I’m looking forward to the whole damn thing, but I’m really going to try and be there Saturday at 5PM when Drone metal pioneers Earth perform live to Werner Herzog’s hypnotic 1971 documentary Fata Morgana.

“Never before has a Herzog film been publicly performed to with a live score; the Herzog film office has kindly granted us this one-time-only, once-in-a-lifetime event, pairing the film’s exploration of mirages in the Sahara desert with the heavy minimalist drone of Seattle’s most formidable instrumental ensemble. Prepare to have your minds blown by a superior synthesis of sound and vision.”
