Exile from Facebook

You think you find Facebook intrusive, annoying…addictive?  Imagine what it’s like to work there.

Katherine Losse was an early employee, moving from customer service up to the job of Mark Zuckerberg’s speechwriter, one of few women in the realm of what she calls “the boy kings.”

Immersion in a tech startup-turned-cultural touchstone was enough to make her want to cash out before the IPO (smart move, given the stock’s underwhelming performance so far), flee to Marfa, Texas, unplug a bit, and write a tell-all memoir.

We talked to Losse from Marfa Public Radio as she attempts to answer the question: What kind of world is Facebook trying to build, and is it one we want to live in?
