If you aren’t busy standing under LACMA’s levitated mass this weekend, check out KCRW’s booth at Dwell on Design, a program at the L.A. Convention Center from June 22-24.

KCRW’s booth (#270) will feature the edgy and imaginative illustrations from a recent contest to design a sound booth for KCRW’s new series Sonic Trace, which was created by Anayansi Diaz-Cortes and Eric Pearse-Chavez and features stories about Mexican and Central American immigrants.

If you aren’t going to make it, here’s a slideshow of all the entries.

And in case you were curious, the winner was La Burbuja! “The bubble” was designed by Hugo Martinez with his girlfriend Christin To and his firm maT-Ter.

Pretty cool, right? He’ll be at the convention Saturday to talk about his project.

Read more here about the contest, which received 30 designs from places ranging from Barcelona to Los Angeles on KCRW’s Design and Architecture blog.
