LA Beer Week spotlights growing brewery scene

L.A. Beer Week starting tomorrow, we decided to take a look at how one of them is tapping into a new market.

A lot of the talk around helping the U.S. economy grow centers on the role of small business owners. That includes people like Jeremy Raub. He’s co-founder of northeast L.A.’s Eagle Rock Brewery, which opened in January of 2010.

Raub’s brewery is part of a nationwide trend, with 350 new craft breweries opening in just the past year. The industry says it employs more than 100,000 people.

At Eagle Rock Brewery, that growth has meant going from a neighborhood taproom to competing for grocery store shelf space.
