After months of negotiations, it seems likely that the Los Angeles teachers’ union is headed toward a strike in January.

Representatives from United Teachers Los Angeles have said their chief concerns are overcrowded classrooms, lack of supplies, and insufficient pay for teachers. The Los Angeles Unified School District assures students and parents that schools will remain open, but attendance is expected to drop substantially.
