Here are 3 events DnA recommends you check out this weekend.
1. UnforgettingLA #2: Architecture & Design
This year, the Pritzker Prize jury’s decision to not retroactively honor Denise Scott Brown with architecture’s most prestigious award sparked a debate about gender discrimination in architecture, a generally male-dominated field.
The online magazine East of Borneo wants to address the issue of under-representation of female architects by hosting a so-called “edit-a-thon” where participants will create and/or revise Wikipedia pages that cover topics of design and architecture, with a focus on women in these fields, such as Deborah Sussman, above.
When: Saturday December 14 12:00-4:00 PM
Where: MAK Center for Art and Architecture at the Schindler House; 835 N. Kings Road West Hollywood, CA 90069
Tickets: Free! but they say, “you’ll need a laptop computer, power adapter, and any reference materials (optional) that you’d like to work from or share.”

‘Tis the season for family-friendly animated films.
Next week’s DnA will feature Michael Giaimo, Art Director of Disney’s Frozen. Giaimo and executive producer John Lasseter are both alumni of Calarts esteemed animation department; this weekend at LACMA, CalArts will screen a “buffet of animated shorts” that it describes as the crème de la crème of their animated work. The screening of Calarts work is part of the Los Angeles International Children’s Film Festival at the museum this weekend.

Where: LACMA, Bing Theater, 5905 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90036

3. Echo Park Craft Fair and Ram Holiday Event
Echo Park Craft Fair
In case you haven’t made it to one of the many pop-up art fairs in Los Angeles to take place this holiday season, make sure you head to Echo Park Craft Fair this weekend, a fair spearheaded by local designers Beatrice Valenzuela and Rachel Craven. The two-day fair will feature the work of more than 70 local artists in a range of fields including: jewelry, clothing, ceramics, weavings and more.
DnA is a bit puzzled, though, as to why the Echo Park Craft fair is taking place in Silver Lake.

Where: Mack Sennett Studios, 1215 Bates Ave., Silver Lake
