A Musical Valentine to Frank Gehry’s House

Hosted by

Andrew Norman is a Composer-in-Residence at the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, and he is crazy for architecture. Last week he debuted Frank’s House, a piece of music inspired by Frank Gehry’s experimental home in Santa Monica that interweaves a Brahms waltz with sounds of sticks on chain link fence and corrugated metal. Norman tells DnA about the connection between music and architecture, and gives a sonic tour of the sounds he came up with.
