Mallery Roberts Morgan. Here she gives her recommendations for La Cienega Design Quarter’s Legends, starting tonight.

Legends is a three-day event with a jam-packed schedule of panel discussions, book-signings, showroom events, exhibitions, cocktails and lots of parties. Most of the event schedule is open only to design industry professionals – either by invitation by registration – and many of the panels and discussions have limited capacity and fill up weeks in advance. If you’re not a design professional most of what’s going on wouldn’t be of general interest as it’s very much targeted for design-related businesses.

However, if you love design and decoration – or just want to discover a Los Angeles neighborhood that is the heart of the city’s high-end design world – the Legends event is a great opportunity to put on a pair of comfortable shoes – although as chic as possible! – and explore the many shops and showrooms around La Cienega Boulevard, Melrose Place and Melrose Boulevard West..

Start at the ‘Legends’ information desk located at:

765 N. La Cienega Boulevard – where you can pick up a program & map.

This will highlight all the participating shops and showrooms of the La Cienega Design Quarter. Nearly fifty of the shops and showrooms have windows designed by many of LA’s top designers for the ‘Legends’ event.

You can find a complete list of ‘Designer Windows’ on line here:

Designer Window HIGHLIGHTS

Cliff Fong – Dragonette

There are a handful of ‘Open House’ events – open to anyone and not necessary to reserve attendance…
