1. Le Feu de L’Eau Candles ($60)

Jo Strettell & Wendy Polish are the women behind a line of scented candles made in Los Angeles called Le Feu de L’Eau. Each soy-based candle is sculpted underwater (no two are exactly the same) and the colours are hand mixed. The collection of nine custom-blended fragrances includes Le Feu Gris (musk/smoke), Le Feu D’Ivoire (patchouli/amber), and Le Feu Chartreuse (cedar/frankincense). Kohler designers say that they programmed this showerhead/speaker to KCRW, so we couldn’t resist giving it to our connoisseur of all things audiophonic, Tom Schnabel. He says : “I found it odd but wonderful. The sound is great, the shower head a “rainforest” type, good wide coverage, which I found better than a narrower Speakman head. One can also disengage the speaker from the showerhead and place it elsewhere in the bathroom. Plus you can never really hear the radio when you’re in the shower. So my verdict is: thumbs up. . . and better to listen to Rhythm Planet by! Get it here.
