What does it take to earn a few blue ribbons at the Good Food Pie Contest? Ask Gjelina Take Away‘s Nicole Rucker who swept four of seven categories back in 2012 and was inspired to win more. Her journey took her on the road through the deserts of the southwest and plains of Oklahoma to the National Pie Championships in Florida (stopping for slices of inspiration along the way, of course) and was documented by Casey O’Brien. Join Nicole and friends for a screening of Pie Fidelity at the Silent Movie Theatre (611 N Fairfax Ave, Los Angeles) on Tuesday, September 23 at 8:00 p.m. Nicole will serve pie following the screening and there will be a raffle to win pies made by some of this year’s judges, Los Angeles’ top bakers. Tickets are $10 and will be sold on a first-come, first-basis at the event. Ticket and raffle sale proceeds go to benefit the 6th Annual Good Food Pie Contest. Tie a napkin around your neck and come on down!
