This week the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced they've changed the rules for the best picture category again. For the last two years they've had 10 nominees (up from five in decades past) but this year it could be anywhere between five and 10. Now voting members will rank the 10 choices from 1-10 and if a film gets ranked in the #1 slot by five percent of the voters, it will be a nominee for Best Picture. Kim and Rebecca Keegan (who’s sitting in for John Horn) debate the merits of the change and what kinds of films will win or lose under these new rules.
