Anaheim versus Angels over development

Hosted by

As the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim slouch their way to their worst record in over a decade, team officials now have another fight they need to take on during the off-season. In October, the Anaheim City Council is set to vote on a $500 million development project in the Platinum Triangle, the area around Angels Stadium. Owner Arte Moreno opposes the plans, because they get in the way of his own proposal to develop parcels around the stadium and use those proceeds to build a new stadium for his team. But Anaheim officials have long wanted to develop the Platinum Triangle, which has been in limbo for nearly a decade. Can the Angels and Anaheim make peace — or will Moreno use this as further fuel to relocate?
