Banning Ranch Development Closer to Reality?

Hosted by
This month has proved eventful regarding the Banning Ranch, a 400-acre stretch of former oil fields in Newport Beach that's one of the last undeveloped patches of coastal Orange County. Analysts at the California Coastal Commission recently recommended an increase in development on the property seven months after commission members rejected another development plan. That led to dozens of activists blasting them on Thursday at a commission meeting over the recommendation. As a result, a vote on the project has been delayed until September. How will commissioners -- who have been under controversy all year for firing the Commission's executive director -- vote then?
