Injunction Disfunction in Santa Ana

Hosted by

Last week, residents of the Townsend Street neighborhood in Santa Ana held a contentious townhall meeting with Police Chief Carlos Rojas and an OC DA prosecutor. Rojas and the prosecutor were there to explain why OC DA Tony Rackaukas had asked a judge to approve a gang injunction in the neighborhood to combat crime. Residents, while agreeing that crime plagues Townsend, nevertheless want the judge to rescind the gang injunction and have raised the threat of a lawsuit, just like residents of Orange's Cypress Street barrio did last year to successfully fight off a gang injunction there. Can both sides come to a compromise, or will the matter reach the courts?
