It Would Mean Everything to Play in the Majors

Getting a hit in baseball is one of the hardest things to do in sports. This is true in the majors, but more so in the minors, where every at bat is a pressure-filled referendum on your career. Kyle Garlick plays for the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, High-A Affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers, and he understands the stakes. That’s why, hours before each game, he takes batting practice with the team, attempting to perfect a skill that will never be perfect. Accepting that is part of baseball, just as it’s part of life.
