The High Wire without a Safety Net

Hosted by

Kurt Andersen and legendary high wire walker Philippe Petit meet up at Ground Zero. Petit tells Kurt about his amazing daring – and illegal— 1974 feat: bypassing World Trade Center security with his team, rigging the set-up at night, and walking across a cable strung at between the tops of the Twin Towers. Kurt also talks with James Marsh, who directed a new documentary about Petit's daredevil act. Man on Wire comes out this weekend. And actor Bill Murray obsesses over poetry, Kurt makes a visit to the studio of art star Kehinde Wiley (he's got a new show up at the Studio Museum in Harlem), plus DJ Shadow shares trade secrets about chasing down the perfect beats and samples.
