Charles M. Blow: Fire Shut Up in My Bones

Hosted by  •

"You don't know your life until you write your life," says New York Times columnist Charles M. Blow. For him, that didn't happen until his was in his 40s, with children of his own. It was only when he could see first hand how vulnerable they were, how small, that he summoned up the courage to relive his own childhood trauma, most notably the experience of being molested in his Gibsland, Louisiana childhood home. His first memoir, Fire Shut Up in My Bones, fearlessly recollects that earth-shattering moment and explores the impact it had on the rest of Charles' family life, his relationships, and his career.
