Michael C. Hall: Dexter, Kill Your Darlings

Hosted by

From the Emcee in the Sam Mendes-directed Caberet on Broadway, to closeted David Fisher in Six Feet Under, to everyone's favorite serial killer Dexter Morgan, so much of Michael C. Hall's work is marked by his physical investment in character, which Hall says may have derived from his background in theatre. With Dexter almost behind him (the series finale airs this Sunday on Showtime), he's eager to take on new challenges, like playing a real-life character for the first time, which he does in Kill Your Darlings, directed by John Krokidas. Hall plays teacher David Kammerer, whose murder by Lucien Carr in 1944 drew together the poets of the beat generation: Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac and William Burroughs. This interview was recorded at the Toronto International Film Festival.
