Elvis Mitchell hosts writer Mikal Gilmore, who has covered and criticized rock & roll and its culture as music editor for the L.A. Weekly and the L.A. Herald Examiner, and, for twenty years, as a staff writer for Rolling Stone. His first book, Shot In The Heart, won the L.A. Times Book Prize and the National Book Critics Circle Award. His current book, Night Beat, covers the history of rock and roll.
