Attune 1.0: A County-Wide Sound and Light Experience Connecting Communities Through Art

This fall, Los Angeles will experience an unprecedented public art event: Attune 1.0, a county-wide activation of sound and light unfolding simultaneously across multiple locations, including Long Beach, Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Culver City, and more. The exhibition will be 100% free to the public. Presented by NXT Art Foundation and Arup, and produced by Carmen Zella, Co-founder, NXT Art Foundation + Owner & Creative Director, NOW Art, Attune LA is a first-of-its-kind platform that uses the elemental forces of sound and light frequencies—the basic building blocks of life—to unite Angelenos in a shared experience of harmony, healing, and collective expression. “Everyone has a valid and needed voice in this world, regardless of whether one is a trained musician or not, and this piece will make everyone sound sublime and in harmony. The event will feature interdisciplinary artists: Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Beatie Wolfe, Media Pollution, Sarah Rara, claire rousay, L.Frank, Qur’an Shaheed, Carmina Escobar, and Odeya Nini, each presenting unique sound-based works that invite audiences to slow down, listen deeply, engage, and reconnect with one another.

In partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Arts and Culture and endorsed by Los Angeles Recreation and Parks, Attune LA is guided by a dynamic group of advisors, including HealthTunes, KCRW, dublab, Lookout.fm, Music Mends Minds, Point C, Theater DNA, Push More Buttons, Music Changing Lives, Contemporary Cultura!.
