CAMERON WINTER AT CARNEGIE HALL

Janus Films and Criterion will release CAMERON WINTER AT CARNEGIE HALL, Paul Thomas Anderson’s new concert film, in a city-by-city 35mm tour beginning on November 20. The lightning-in-a-bottle performance is being presented only on film, in limited engagements in some of the largest historic theaters in the country, from Los Angeles’ Aero to San Francisco’s Castro and Chicago’s Music Box.

Filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another) captured Winter’s performance with an intimacy only experienced by those in the room, a show praised by GQ as “staggeringly good.” Now, audiences around the country will be able to experience it themselves, traveling to last December in New York’s Carnegie Hall. The music was recorded and produced for the film and previously announced live album by music producer Ariel Rechtshaid (Grammy winner for albums with Vampire Weekend and

Adele). The film is produced by Sara Murphy, Erica Frauman and Maggie Ambrose and co-produced by filmmaker and actor Benny Safdie.

Synopsis

Cameron Winter, in December 2025, after a months-long sold-out tour with his band Geese, returned to New York to play a single show at Carnegie Hall. This is the movie.

Winter’s solo album Heavy Metal was named one of the best of the year by Pitchfork, Rolling Stone, Paste and Mojo and Geese’s last record Getting Killed was named the best album of 2025 by The New Yorker, NME, and Stereogum. Winter was one of the youngest people ever to headline Carnegie Hall (at 23), edged out slightly by Bob Dylan (22, in 1963).
