Corita Day: Presented by Corita Art Center x KCRW
Southern California Institute of Architecture
Free | All Ages
Join Corita Art Center and KCRW in Downtown Los Angeles’ Arts District for the 7th annual Corita Day, a free afternoon of artmaking, music, food, and collective creativity celebrating the life and legacy of artist, educator, and humanitarian Corita Kent. Inspired by Corita’s belief that art can be a powerful tool for connection, joy, and social change, Corita Day Festival brings together artists, educators, families, community organizations, and friends from across Los Angeles for an afternoon of making and gathering.
Expect art activities like button making, face painting, and coloring, variety of food trucks, ice cream from Van Leeuwen and burgers from Love Hour, music provided by KCRW, a performance by Bob Baker Marionette Theater, and more!
Since 2019, when the City and County of Los Angeles officially recognized Corita Day in honor of what would have been Corita Kent’s birthday, the annual celebration has carried forward her spirit of radical creativity and her commitment to art, education, and social justice.
Come make something, hear something, meet someone, and celebrate Corita’s enduring invitation to Get with The Action!
Limited parking is available. Rideshare and public transportation are encouraged.
