First Fridays returns to the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County on Friday, February 6, launching the 2026 season and celebrating 20 years as one of Los Angeles’ must-attend after-hours events.

For two decades, this signature series has brought together music, science, and culture for an unforgettable night at the Museum. Running once a month from February through May, First Fridays offers nighttime access to world-class exhibitions, live music inside NHM’s iconic diorama halls, eye-opening talks with scientists, and food and drinks from local vendors. February’s lineup features musical performances by Jay Som and Georgia Maq, plus DJ sets from KCRW’s Novena Carmel and Wyldeflower.

The evening also marks the debut of Life, From Our Guts to the Galaxy: Rethinking the Living World, a new discussion series in collaboration with the Planetary Program at the Berggruen Institute. The first talk, Life at the Human Scale, brings together NHM scientist Dr. Kayce Bell, Assistant Curator of Terrestrial Mammals; Dr. Jack Gilbert, Professor, Department of Pediatrics & Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UCSD; and moderator Dr. Yewande Pearse, neuroscientist, to explore how unseen life shapes human health, identity, and our understanding of what it means to be human. Admission also includes access to Fierce! The Story of Cats, your last chance to see the exhibition before it closes February 18.

Celebrate 20 years of First Fridays at NHM! It’s an unforgettable night of music, science, cocktails, and after-hours exploration.
