From Berlin to LA

Celebrating a decade From Berlin to LA:

Your Mom Agency began its cultural exchange with Los Angeles in 2016 through the multi-venue festival From Berlin to LA. The following year, the agency produced the festival’s second edition and later co-organized the 50th anniversary celebration of Berlin and Los Angeles as sister cities. In 2018, Your Mom Agency collaborated on the opening festival of Deutschlandjahr / Wunderbar Together, the official USA–Germany friendship program, with the project From Germany to LA.

In 2019, the agency expanded its exchange initiative to Detroit, hosting a series of events that connected local and international artists. During the pandemic lockdowns, Your Mom Agency continued the project online with EXP__, alongside a compilation and soundpack release titled LA x Berlin.

Returning to in-person programming in 2023–24, the agency presented a series of workshops bridging both cities’ creative communities. In 2025–26, Your Mom Agency will mark ten years of cultural exchange with a new edition of From Berlin to LA, in partnership with dublab, the Consulate General of Germany Los Angeles, KCRW, Orchestral Tools, Seahorse Sound Studios, and The Black Lodge.

The From Berlin to LA program will continue in DTLA at Handbag Factory on December 18 with: Conscious Summary (Samur Khouja for sound and live visuals), Häana (violin and Push), Harp Impressions (Caroline Campbell on the harp), Heare (El Larson on modular synth), and DJ sets by Dex (Underground Resistance) and Kosmik (The Black Lodge)
