KCRW Partner Screening: 'Sinners'

KCRW and Warner Bros. invite you to a special awards screening of Sinners in 70mm, followed by a conversation with director Ryan Coogler, cast members Michael B. Jordan, Jayme Lawson, Miles Caton, and Delroy Lindo, costume designer Ruth E. Carter, production designer Hannah Beachler, cinematographer Autumn Durald Arkapaw, and casting director Francine Maisler.

After chasing success in the North, twin brothers Smoke and Stack return to their hometown of Clarksdale, Mississippi to open a juke joint. As music and dance meld in celebration of artistry, culture and history, an evil descends, threatening to devour the heart and soul of the community.

SCREENING: 6:00 PM - conversation to follow the screening

ADMISSION: This screening is open to KCRW members first. Guests must RSVP to attend. If space allows, non-members may be admitted. Admission is free. Guests will be admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. RSVP does not guarantee entry.

Director/Writer/Producer Ryan Coogler, DP Autumn Durald Arkapaw, Actor Michael B. Jordan and more of the team behind Sinners discuss the history-making filmmaking techniques employed throughout production, including lensing in both IMAX 70mm and Ultra Panavision 65 simultaneously - a union of two techniques that’s never been accomplished before - and also crafting the longest-ever shot filmed in IMAX. This innovative approach highlights the emotion of Coogler's story and brings to life sprawling visuals never-before-seen on the big screen.
