Charles Kupchan is a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations and a professor of international affairs at Georgetown University. He is the author of several books, including The End of the American Era: US Foreign Policy and the Geopolitics of the Twenty-First Century, How Enemies Become Friends: The Sources of Stable Peace and No One's World: The West, The Rising Rest, and the Coming Global Turn.
He formerly served as director of European affairs at the National Security Council (Clinton and Obama Administrations).
