Richard Haass

Richard Haass is president of the Council on Foreign Relations and the author of A World in Disarray: American Foreign Policy and the Crisis of the Old Order.

From 2001-2003 Haass served as director of policy and planning at the State Department, and from 1989-1993 as a member of the National Security Council .
