Fred Armisen

Fred Armisen is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and musician best known for his work on Saturday Night Live, Portlandia, and Los Espookys.

Armisen grew up in New York and began his career as a musician and drummer before moving into comedy. He joined the cast of Saturday Night Live in 2002 and became known for his wide range of impressions and eccentric original characters.

Armisen co-created and starred in Portlandia with Carrie Brownstein, a satirical sketch-comedy series that ran from 2011 to 2018. He later co-created and starred in the Spanish-language HBO comedy Los Espookys. He has also appeared in films and television shows including Anchorman, EuroTrip, Easy A, The Rocker, Big Mouth, and Wednesday.

Music has remained a major part of his career. He has performed as a drummer with several bands and has collaborated with numerous musicians. He also served as the longtime bandleader and drummer for Late Night with Seth Meyers.

Armisen is particularly recognized for his character work, musical comedy, deadpan delivery, impressions, and ability to adopt different accents and personas.
