Annie & The Caldwells – “Wrong (Feat. Deborah Caldwell Moore)”
Why try to be right all the time when it feels so good to accept that (sometimes) you’re just plain wrong? Embrace your mistakes with this truth-testimonial track from soul outfit Annie & The Caldwells — a mega-voiced family trio singing modern gospel out of West Point, Mississippi. Right on, be wrong!
ASTROPICAL (Bomba Estéreo & Rawayana) – “Me Pasa (Piscis)”
February who? Tap into this brand-new South American supergroup track for a tropical escape. The very first song released from the collaboration between Colombia’s Bomba Estéreo and Venezuelan group Rawayana is a sexy, summery single that will have you reaching for the tanning oil. Bonus points for a maritime video with an unexpected turn of events.
Adrian Younge – “A Música Na Minha Fantasia”
Inspired by the music of Brazil, artist and composer Adrian Younge is taking his sound psychedelic via his latest musical incarnation. This is the debut track under that visage and it delivers on authenticity, soul, and fluidly deployed vocals in Brazilian Portuguese — arguably one of the best languages on Earth for singing.
Phil Cook – “Appalachia Borealis”
Deep sigh of appreciation for this beautiful piano track. A perfect companion to slowing down and noticing small brilliances — a flame dancing on a candle, a bee pollinating a flower, clouds shapeshifting overhead. Take it all in along to the elegant and restrained notes provided by pianist Phil Cook, who calls this his favorite song.
Brian Eno x Bloom – “Bloom: Living World”
Master of arresting soundscapes Brian Eno has collaborated with sound engineer Peter Chilvers to create Bloom. It’s not a band or a musical act, but a piece of generative music software that allows you to create Eno-style ambient music. Enjoy 30 minutes of Bloom derived sounds via the link below. If you want more, grab the Bloom app and choose to either “listen” or “create” for an original sonic stream.
