LA band Autolux made their live radio debut on KCRW’s Morning Becomes Eclectic this morning, playing a set of songs off their new album Transit Transit and more.

The band is opening for Broken Bells at the Wiltern tonight and previously opened for Nine Inch Nails, counting Trent Reznor among their fans. In fact, Jason says Trent was raving about the local trio when he stopped by our studios earlier this week.

Jason listed a few reasons why their new album Transit Transit is so compelling to him — Beatles-eque song styling, Sonic Youth/Thurston Moore guitar, excellent drums and a brooding atmosphere. He asked them about their writing process and they said that generally, when writing songs, they are “chasing an emotional sensibility that we all have. It starts with the mood and a unique emotion and then we build a song around that.”
