Tonight you can watch Bahamas on Conanand this Saturday you can see him for FREE at One Colorado in Old Pasadena as part of KCRW’s Summer Nights.

I can’t think of a better artist to kick off our free, all ages concert series. Bahamas is a project from Canadian musician Afie Jurvanen. His album was a slow grower here at KCRW – first, the poppy “Caught Me Thinkin’” grabbed our attention. But a deeper listen to the album reveals ruminations on love – both catchy and meditative – from a truly talented singer-songwriter. It’s soulful, textured melancholic pop.

It’s one of my favorite albums I’ve heard this year and I can’t wait to hear it live. Check out “I Got You Babe”. (this is no Sonny and Cher cover, trust me)

If you didn’t get tickets to the two sold out shows he’s playing at the Troubadour with UK singer Ben Howard this week, I highly recommend making it out to Pasadena.
