Get in babes, we’re about to go deep on the lineup for the 2023 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival. Frank Ocean (taking up the headline slot initially booked for the ill-fated 2020 festival), Bad Bunny, BLACKPINK and more lead a lineup of music’s heaviest hitters. The festival will run its double weekend format April 14-16 and 21-23.

Among the other major players sure to leave it all out on the (literal) field this year are Björk, Kali Uchis, ROSALÍA, Boygenius, Charlie XCX, Kaytranada, Blondie, The Chemical Brothers, and Underworld. It’s a veritable smorgasbord of legacy acts and current popstars.

Of course, as you well know by now, one must look to the smaller print for the real action. KCRW favorites like Gabriels, Hiatus Kaiyote, The Breeders, Overmono, 070 Shake, Los Bitchos and Weyes Blood will be out to play. And we love to see so many of our Best of 2022 artists making that hallowed desert trek, including The Comet is Coming, Sudan Archives, Horsegirl and the makers of our (tied) number one album of the year — Wet Leg. Plus, make sure you pack an assortment of your finest dancing shoes as you’ll be seeking refuge in the Despacio dance tent all weekend long.

The festival, going down at the Empire Polo Field in Indio, returned last year after four bouts of rescheduling due to the on-going effects of the COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in mass global lock-downs beginning in March of 2020.

Goldenvoice’s country music-centric Stagecoach festival will once again take place the weekend after Coachella at the Empire Polo Field, running from April 28-30. This year’s Stagecoach lineup features headliners Luke Bryan, Kane Brown, and Chris Stapleton. Side note, perusing the smaller print artists for this fest is quite a journey. KCRW country darlings Valerie June and Sierra Ferrell will be on hand as well as famed drag performer Trixie Mattel (?!), Diplo (?!?!), and Guy Fieri’s Stagecoach Smokehouse (presumably rolling in directly from Flavortown).
