Corinne Bailey Rae on MBE

Written by

Even though I was in attendance at KCRW’s show with Corinne Bailey Rae at Vibiana earlier this week, it was still exciting to hear the live performance again during Morning Becomes Eclectic, especially hearing the cheers from the audience at the end of the first song. It really communicated the feeling in the room – utter bliss and joyfulness. Her songs were all warm and heartfelt, as they veered from jazzy and soulful to funky and sexy. She also included two covers which were standouts noted by all the media in attendance. The OC Register was wowed by her version of  Jimi Hendrix’s “Little Wing” and the LA Times noted her encore, a cover of Doris Day’s “Que Sera Sera.”

This show served as the kick off to her first U.S. tour in three years and found her in fine form. Check out the entire performance here
