For our Dia de los Muertos playlist this year, we’ve covered all our bases. There are songs about Mummies, Vampires, Zombies and Fantasmas (ghosts). We’ve even thrown in another rendition of the classic ode to Latin America’s most ubiquitous ghost, “La Llorona.”

There are a couple eerie classics you may recognize but otherwise we kept it mostly upbeat with some dark, surf rock since it’s a never-ending summer in LA this year. Enjoy the playlist…. It’s A-LIVE!!!

As a bonus, I’ve thrown in this video classic by Timbiriche. It’s a translated cover of Rocky Horror’s “Time Warp”, very apropos since this year saw the reboot of the movie. (Music History note – Timbiriche was a prominent teen pop group from the 1980’s. It’s talented members included the likes of Paulina Rubio, Thalia, & Benny Ibarra, all who later became huge solo pop stars).
