I can’t tell you how I know this but a little bird told me that ElbowMorning Becomes Eclectic’s appearance this year will be making Jason’s list of his favorite performance of 2011.

We’re longtime fans of the band which makes the news they announced this week even more exciting – they will be composing music for the BBC use across their coverage of the 2012 Olympics in London!

I always love it when an “indie” gets some major attention, like when K’Naan’s “Wavin’ Flag” became the anthem for the 2010 World Cup or when the Swell Season won an Oscar for “Once”. I feel a strange sense of pride that is hard to explain.

Congrats to Elbow, who just celebrated their 20th anniversary as a band! Check out their session in the archives here.
