The over-abundance of really bad Baltimore Club-style remixes ultimately led to the genre’s recession out of the spotlight and back into the underground.
But alas, all things go in cycles and T&A Records, the label run by B’more Club standard-bearers DJ Ayres & Tittsworth, has just released a free 20-track compilation called “The Unruly Remixes”, with 4 original Baltimore Club classics (including DJ Class’ “Tear Da Club Up”[!]) and plus 16 remixes of those tracks by artists who have been influenced by that sound. (Warning: it’s very NSFW due to profanity)
The words “epic” and “cerebral” are rarely used to describe a Baltimore Club track, but the Blunted Dummies’ “House For All” certainly fits that description.
The Cousin Cole extended remix of that track is one of my favorite cuts on this compilation.
