If I was to describe Miike Snow’s performance at Apogee Studios this past week in one word, it would be “EPIC!” The energy was palpable from the moment we stepped in the room. And as expected, the room erupted as soon as they took the stage to interview with Jason Bentley. Considering they’d all been in the desert for Coachella the night prior, they were all very well-spoken despite a long drive back, lack of sleep and singer Andrew Wyatt’s concussion he suffered during a previous performance. Interesting stories were told, including how the lyrics for their single, “Genghis Khan,” came about, which playfully became Jason’s “shower song” during the performance! After all, it is a super catchy tune we all could find ourselves singing and humming!
From the first drum beat until the very end, the energy of the performance was non-stop, with eruptions of screams and clapping that became stronger and louder song after song! After three amazing releases, they’ve developed a great catalog of hits, and it was super cool to hear a few from past albums. They definitely left the jam-packed crowd wanting more & they surely left it all on the stage after this amazing performance!
