Jeff Buckley Covered by Lex Land: “Everybody Here Wants You”

Last week, KCRW’s award-winning storytelling show Unfictional aired an incredible story produced by BBC Radio 4on Jeff Buckley.

The musician, who drowned at the age of 30, has always been the subject of fascination, as many talented artists who die way too young are.

He was supremely talented and the radio piece tells the story of the night that started his legend.

We have a history with Jeff here at KCRW and, over the years, we’ve been able to recover some recordings, including a solo acoustic session he performed on KCRW DJ Liza Richardson’s show in the early 90′s.

Covering an artist of this magnitude is daunting so when a singer-songwriter named Lex Land chose to sing one of his most beloved songs during her Morning Becomes Eclectic live set a few years ago, I was a bit nervous.

However, I think she did an amazing job so I wanted to share this special live track from KCRW’s studios with you.

Her whole set was great. Check it out here.
