I am here in New Orleans for Jazzfest, seeing and hearing some great music and indulging in some amazing NO cuisine.

Caught an amazing show at Tipitinas. The Patti Smith Group performed and were joined by her pals Michael Stipe and Peter Buck from a little southern band called REM. A very powerful version of Patti’s “People Have The Power” and a beautifully ragged version of “Wichita lineman.” Beautiful.

I also appeared on the Sync Up panel to talk about my work as music supervisor for “True Blood,” alongside Blake Leyh, music supervisor for the new, NOLA-based HBO series “Treme.”

More to come …off to grab some beignets and coffee.
