LA duo Electric Guest flew out of the gate in 2012 with an epic pop track called “Troubleman“, clocking in at almost 9 minutes. A bold move for a debut album but, with Danger Mouse as your producer, it’s easy to be confident.

Flash forward five years as the band prepares to release their self-produced sophomore album.

Undeniably there is pressure, but nothing the core duo of Asa Taccone and Matthew Comption (aka Cornbread) can’t handle — especially with a set of new songs as good as these.

We had the great pleasure of hosting the band in studio a week in advance of the release date for “Plural” and were impressed at every turn.

Dear to Me” was an instant hit here at the station, and I was really impressed by “Bound to Lose“. (Asa tells me that track is also his brother Jorma‘s favorite. You might recognize him as 1/3 of Lonely Island)
