KCRW Presents: Stuck in the Middle with Summer

Written by

We’ve officially hit the middle of summer. Personally, I’m counting the days until the start of fall; you, however, may be counting the various tan lines you have. But all of us should be counting the numerous fun shows we get to see this summer. Hopefully these new KCRW presents shows will make it onto your ‘Must See’ list:

Hercules and Love Affair at The El Rey on Wednesday, September 26

CRSSD Festival with Duke Dumont, Bob Moses, Marian Hill, Sofi Tukker, Flight Facilites, John Digweed, Autograf and more at Waterfront Park in San Diego on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30

Christine and the Queens at The Wiltern on Saturday, October 27

Toro y Moi at The Novo on Friday, November 2

A Thousand Thoughts:  A Live Documentary by Sam Green and Kronos Quartet at the Theatre at Ace Hotel on Friday, December 7

I’m a late bloomer fan of Charlotte Gainsbourg’s music. I had always been familiar with her dad (French icon Serge Gainsbourg) and his work, but didn’t really know much about her own music career until I heard “Trick Pony” from her 2009 album, IRM.

She’s not a performer who is constantly on the road, so having her stop by LA is a rare treat. She’s live at the Fonda tomorrow night and you can still get tickets to the show here.

Did you know that summer time at KCRW means a shot at winning a Hollywood Bowl box for four every weekday during Morning Becomes Eclectic? This Monday, we’ll be giving away box seats (plus a parking pass and dining gift card) to see Rodrigo y Gabriela.  If that’s not reason enough to support your local public radio station (that’s us!) I don’t know how else to convince you. Hope you win those tickets!

*If you want to know what other giveaways we have scheduled every day of the year, follow me on Twitter (@acherrymary) for daily updates. I’m fun.

And now, your 15 day calendar of KCRW Presents events:
