LA Kings, tonight is a big night as they face the San JoseSharks. The team has a division title within their grasp, as well as the possibility of making the playoffs. It’s a suspenseful week, but we’re offering a little levity in the form of some music picks from Kings defenseman Davis Drewiske.

We found out he was a fan of KCRW’s music programming after the Kings posted a locker room video, hosted by Forward Colin Fraser, where he asked different players what they listen to before a game.

Davis sat down with DJ Anne Litt (who, funnily enough, dressed up as a hockey player for KCRW’s Halloween ball Masquerade) and talked about a handful of songs that veer between the raw rock he listens to before he hits the ice to sentimental picks that reflect his Midwestern upbringing.

He also makes a connection between the skill sets of athletes and musicians, which I found really interesting.
