Earlier this year, the otherworldly chamber pop on North Carolina band Lost in the Trees’ sophomore album caught Jason’s ear. Many months later we finally got a chance to see it live and it’s just as mesmerizing in person.

Frontman Ari Picker says he focuses a lot of textures and was looking to create something strange and surreal with these songs, citing modern classical music as a major sonic influence.

This album was born out of some painful personal experiences, including the loss of his mother, but in the end tells a story of transformation.

The band included an exclusive new track for KCRW that they’ve been playing live during their recent tour. It’s the first time they’ve played “Glass Harp” on the radio and gives us more reason to look forward to their next album!
